Choice Of LocationTheir has been allot of consideration regarding the locations we could shoot the opening, as their has also been a selection of locations me and my group have chosen for the "cutaway" scene.
Main LocationFor main locations me and my group wanted big buildings that could connote business or wealth, we also wanted a location that could be made to look like Xavier's work place
QBE, Chelmsford town: A very formal expensive building which would connote business, it could also realistically be Xavier's place of work, this is the ideal location to film however may not be able to due to "Copy write" laws.
Lloyds TSB bank, Chelmsford town: This bank would also be a good location, however is allot smaller in size to the "QBE" building and therefore wouldn't connote wealth as well, however their are some advantages such as the owner would most probably allow shooting due to one of the group members family working there.
Melbourne Flats, Melbourne: Compared to the other listed this would be the least likely candidate to shoot, it is a big empowering building however isn't as "classy" as the above, it is also the least business related building therefore would connote that Xavier is their recreationally and is also a block of flats so would more likely connote poverty then wealth. Their are some advantages however such as we would be allowed to shoot their and It would be easily accessible. It would be mine and my groups last choice to shoot, however serves convenience in accessibility.
Highlands house, Highlands park: a unlikely choice but one that could be made to look very professional and fit our film if me and my group put the work in to the house in regards to transforming it to a workplace of offices, the work me and my group would have to do makes this a very unlikely choice however is their if we change our minds. The building definitely dose connote wealth, however would take work connoting business.
CutawayThe cutaway scene cuts from Xavier in the main city/ his workplace to someone tranquil showing how Xavier handles his corrupt lifestyle.
Beach, Clacton on sea: a moderately hard accessible beach that would connote tranquillity as the beach unlike others in Britain is very desolate and isolated. We would not need promotion to cast: this therefore is a likely candidate for the cutaway scene.
Corn Fields, Chelmsford: the most easy scene in regards to accessibility, if the weather is right it would make for a very majestic cutaway with the rustling of the crops. Connotes innocence which is effective for juxtaposition of the genre being "crime drama". me and my group may have to ask for promotion from the farmer who owns the fields, he would most probably allow us as he directly owns it all.
River Mill lain, Chelmsford: Connotes soothing and relaxation and assists pace, easy to access like the corn field, I find this to be the least likely candidate as its a little boring and not the most aesthetically pleasing location, we would have to ask for permition.
