Audition Script and Times

This is the audition script that I produced. The idea is that the person being auditioned reads the first part, from this we can get an idea of how they speak, from this seeing whether we think they would be able to adjust to play the role of Xavier, and whether or not they are suitable for the role.

The next 4 questions are just to find out a bit about the person. The first question asking about whether or not they have had any past experiences in acting. This is just so that we can get an understanding of their experience, so that we know whether or not they are the sort of person we would be looking for when trying to film a professional piece. If they had little or no experience, they may not be ideal, unless they are naturally talented in acting and we can see something in them that we think would benefit us and aid us to film a good opening scene for our film.

The second question just enables them to open up to us. From this we can hear how they speak, whether they are confident to talk to us, meaning we can get an understanding of if they may be camera shy or not a great addition to us when it comes to filming our opening.

The third question again is just to get them speaking so we can assess them further. The fourth is where they can show off to us and tell us why they think they should land this role.

Timings

Working and achieving deadlines are very important. Therefore our actors need to be very flexible. When we say we need to film, they have to be available. This is because otherwise, filming can take a very long time, and if they are never available, filming wont ever get done.

To ensure we get filming done, we will make the successful candidate a timetable, this will have all the different times and dates on that we will be filming certain things. Obviously, this may change, however its a rough guide so that our candidate knows when they have to be free and when they will be expected to be available for filming.
